Hung Vuong Square, Chi Lang Ward, LangSonCity, the Party Committee of Lang Son city, People's Council, People's Committee, Fatherland Front Committee of Lang Son City held an Announcement Ceremony of the Prime Minister's Decision recognizing Lang Son city as a second-grade city of Lang Son province. Attending the Ceremony were Mrs. Lam Thi Phuong Thanh, Member of the  Central Party Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Hoang Van Nghiem, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Mr. Pham Ngoc Thuong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of provincial departments, commissions, sectors, unions and People's Committees of districts together with former provincial and city leaders over periods; heroic Vietnamese mothers, Heroes of the People's Armed Forces; representatives of ministries, central branches, other provinces and people.

 

 

Speaking at the Ceremony, Mr. Le Tri Thuc, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Committee affirmed that in order to mobilize resources to build the city, the Provincial Standing Committee issued Resolution No. 62-NQ/TU, May 29, 2013 on continuing to build and develop Lang Son city by 2020 to become a second-grade city. Thereby a series of key tasks of economic development, planning, investment in urban infrastructure and social infrastructure have been implemented effectively by the city. The city has been upgraded to a second-grade city, which is the basis for the Central Government to bring the city into national urban development programs and economic development areas and attracting more investors to the city, creating an dynamic production and business environment, creating more jobs for people; creating a premise to implement urban development planning. Lang Son city strives to become a first-grade city by 2030. The city determines that the investment in urban construction and expansion, becoming a smart and modern urban providing economic and social services to improve the physical and spiritual life for the citizen, which is the city's top goal in the coming years.

Congratulating the leaders and people of Lang Son city on this great event, Mr. Pham Ngoc Thuong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized that the Prime Minister's signing of the Decision to recognize Lang Son city is a class II city is not only the pride of the Party, government and city people but also the common joy of the people in the province. Achieving that result, besides the support of the Government, ministries, central and provincial branches and it is thanks to the continuous effort of the Party Committee and people of Lang Son city. He suggested that the Party, government and people of the City continue to promote effectively potential advantages, especially trade, services, tourism, focus on synchronizing the implementation of the solutions for attractive investment, development of civilized and modern urban areas, development of urban infrastructure and socio-economic in each stage based on the socio-economic pillars of the province; creating favorable conditions for investors to explore and implement projects in the area; improving the capacity, effectiveness and efficiency of urban governments at all levels; paying attention to investment in comprehensive development of the cultural field in parallel with socio-economic development. Building the cultural personality of Lang Son city based on advanced and modern culture and imbued with the local ethnic identity.
