On August 21, 2020, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development coordinated with the Department of Industry and Trade to hold a conference to connect the consumption of Chi Lang custard apple and OCOP products in Lang Son province in 2020. Attend the conference there were representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, typical businesses, associations, cooperatives, traders in the province, Hanoi city and some other provinces.




In his opening remarks, the Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development stated that Lang Son was a locality with many advantages of climate and soil with a variety of specialty products, and the province has built a number of specialized commodity production areas that hace brought the income value of about 1,000 billion/year such as Lang Son star anise, specialty vegetable production area, black jelly production area; in particular, Chi Lang custard apple are grown concentrated in Chi Lang, Huu Lung districtwith an area of ​​about 3,200 hectares, the annual output is over 35 thousand tons, the annual income value is over 1,000 billion VND. In addition, the province has also implemented the OCOP program. In 2019, there are 13 products recognized and it is expected that, in 2020, there will be 25 more standardized products from 3 stars to 4 stars.


The conference aims to strengthen trade promotion activities, promote the consumption of agricultural products and OCOP products of Lang Son province, especially Chi Lang custard apple in 2020, meeting the tastes of the consumers from capital city and provinces, cities in the country. It also connects producers with distribution businesses to consume agricultural products, safe food in Hanoi and other provinces and cities.


Speaking at the conference, the representative of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development emphasized that the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Ministry of Industry and Trade always attached special importance to opening up and diversifying markets for agricultural and aquatic products of Vietnam. Up to now, many kinds of tropical fruits of Vietnam such as dragon fruit, longan, mango, banana, jackfruit, rambutan, mangosteen, star apple ... have been exported to markets such as EU, USA, Australia, Japan, Korea and China; the custard apple of Vietnam are in the negotiation process to export through official channels to Chinese market.




At the conference, the signing ceremony of cooperation to promote agricultural products took place between enterprises and cooperatives.
